
Caution prevailed in today's Athens Stock Exchange session, with sellers taking a small lead at the close, with the market closing slightly lower. Among the large-cap stocks, Motor Oil, Alpha Bank and HELPE outperformed, offsetting Titan's plunge.
The General Price Index closed at 1,548.93 points, down 0.19%. Intra-day it recorded a lower price at 1,546.82 points (-0.33%). The value of transactions amounted to 102.22 million euros, while 20,863,765 shares were traded.
The high-cap index fell by 0.15%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.45%.
The banking index closed down 0.06% at 1,391.64 points. Alpha rose 1.91% to 1.7635 euros, while Piraeus closed up 0.69% at 4.386 euros. Eurobank and Ethniki recorded losses close to 0.85%.
Among the high-cap stocks, the biggest rises were recorded by Motor Oil (+2.58%), Alpha Bank (+1.91%), ELPE (+1.82%), and Viohalco (+1.24%).
On the contrary, the biggest decline was recorded by the shares of Titan (-4.11%), Coca Cola HBC (-1.33%), Sarantis (-1.21%), and EYDAP (-1.15%). The largest trading volume was recorded by Alpha Bank and Eurobank, trading 6,483,897 and 3,805,825 shares, respectively. The highest trading value was recorded by Alpha Bank with EUR 11.38 million and Piraeus with EUR 10.35 million. 47 shares moved up, 55 down and 23 remained stable.
