
The Athens Stock Exchange is trying to build a defensive wall at 1,550 points, while buyers continue to absorb the sellers' offer.
The Greek market, in this way, is trying to shield itself against international volatility, which has soared in recent times, especially after the imposition of US tariffs on all imports of aluminum and coal.
Specifically, in the second session of the week, the General Index declined imperceptibly by -0.05% to 1,551.19 points, losing less than one point compared to Monday's close (1,551.90 points).
The arc of daily fluctuations extends over two points (from 1,549.90 to 1,551.79 points), with the turnover of transactions ranging at 3 million in the first 15 minutes.
The banking index, influenced by the broader sentiment abroad, remains on the edge of 1,400 points, as it currently stands at +0.02% and 1,392 points.
Alpha shares are up +0.64% and 1.7415 euros, Piraeus shares are stable at 4.356 euros, Eurobank shares are trading -0.29% and 2.38 euros, while NBG shares are down -0.07% and 8.244 euros.
In the high-cap index (0.00% and 3,781 points), the shares of ELVALHALCOR recover +1% and 2 euros, with the shares of Cenergy following at +0.3%, but the shares of Viohalco losing -0.2%, while investors are trying to evaluate all the scenarios surrounding the tariffs issue. Beyond that, Coca Cola's shares are retracing from their all-time highs of €36 (-0.8%). Sarantis and EYDAP are losing -0.6% and -0.8% respectively. Jumbo's shares also show losses of 0.8%, despite the fact that in January the Group's sales increased by 11%. On the flip side, Metlen's shares are up +0.8% and continue their attempt to recover 35 euros.
As for the mid-cap index (-0.15% and 2,465 points), Intralot shares stand out positively at +1.9% and 1.08 euros, with Intracom shares following at +1% and 3.0 euros. At the same time, shares of ADMIE, Dimand and Austriacard are gaining around +0.5%. In contrast, Aktor shares retreat below the psychological threshold of EUR 5 (-0.60%), while PPA shares correct from yesterday's multi-year record of EUR 32 as they narrow to -1.2% and EUR 31.7. The same happens in the case of Kri Kri, which leaves the record highs of 16.4 euros and “falls” by -0.9%.
