
The turnaround in a week that started with a 2.7% plunge was completed by the Athens Stock Exchange, as a strong two-day finish gave a positive sign to the five-day performance while extending its 14-year highs.
The General Index also moved essentially continuously in positive territory today and closed at its high for the day at 1,557.83 points with +0.86%.
Turnover was also satisfactory at 131.5 million, but with 27.7 million in 25 blocks (5 in ETE for 14.3 million, 4 in Eurobank for 3.9 million, and 2 in PPC for 4.29 million) with a trading volume of 26 million blocks.
On a five-day basis, the GI was up a modest 0.55% and completed its seventh bullish week, although the dominant DTP was down -0.39%.
"Without brakes," Coca-Cola (1.3 million) continued today with +2.42% at 36.36 euros, ending the week with +8.86%. Jumbo (5 million) followed closely behind at 26.6 euros with +2.31%, and similarly, Titan finished at a new all-time high of 45.75 euros with +1.89%, having made the third highest turnover of the session with 12.7 million.
The banking sector also saw the most transactions of the day (61 million out of 131), with Eurobank (18.2 million) standing out with +1.69% at 2.413 euros.
NBG (23.1m) gained 0.7% to €8.338, Alpha (8.8m) finished at €1.76 with +0.83%, and Piraeus (10.1m) was up slightly by 0.25% to €4.411.
In the FTSE, Cenergy (4.6m) gained more than 1% at +1.19%, Metlen (6.3m) at +1.02%, and ELHA (227k) at +1%.
PPC with the fourth largest turnover of the day at 10.4 million moved slightly higher at 13.41 euros with +0.4%, and Sarantis with 2.6 million gained 0.88%.
In the FTSE, just three stocks closed down: Lamda (1.1m) at -0.86%, Viohalco (453k) at -0.35%, and TERNA Energy (452k) at -0.1%.
In mid caps, PPA (341k) stood out with a 3.29% jump to €31.4, with Ideal (125k) at +1.89% and Fourlis (540k) at +1.19%. On the other hand, ADMIE (848 mm) corrected to 2.77 euros with -1.77%.
EKTER, trading at 793k euros in the lower layers, continued its strong rally, currently running at +4.55% to 2.07 euros. And since Tuesday, its performance has reached 26.2%.
