
The Strategic Contracts Unit (Project Preparation Facility - PPF) of the Growthfund announces the launch of the tender for the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Athens Olympic Sports Centre (OAKA), with a total budget of €11.5 million (plus VAT).
PPF, as the Operating Authority, has undertaken the tender for the project, which is another important step towards the upgrading and optimal use of the country's most emblematic sports centre.
The scope of the project includes the preparation of the final design, the implementation study and the execution of works for the targeted structural restoration of the relevant buildings and the restoration and upgrading of the surrounding area and the fencing of the OAKA complex.
The interventions included are the following:
- Sealing of joints around the perimeter of the Central Olympic Stadium.
- Addressing the cracks in the area of the Cycling Track.
- Rehabilitation of surfaces and plantings in the surrounding area.
- Redevelopment of the Market Place and restoration of the Pavilions.
- Electromechanical Works.
- Design and implementation of a new internal road network in the area between the cycle track and the swimming facilities.
- Works for the design - construction of Climbing Walls and Scaffolding in the surrounding area.
- Supply and installation of new fencing and dismantling of existing fencing.
- Supply and erection of security guards.
The project is expected to be completed within 14 months from the date of signature of the contract with the contractor, while the resources for its implementation come from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan "Greece 2.0" with funding from the European Union -NextGenerationEU.
The deadline for submission of tenders is Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
The project is part of the initiatives for the radical modernisation of OAKA, with a total budget of €111 million (plus VAT), which are being undertaken by the PPF of the Growthfund in cooperation with the TEI and the Ministry of Sports.
